Full Plot Summary (Detailed)

🔹 Opening

During the London Blitz of World War II, the Pevensie children — Peter, Susan, Edmund, and Lucy — are sent to the countryside to stay with Professor Kirke for safety. The professor’s mansion is huge, mysterious, and full of antique rooms.

🔹 Lucy Discovers Narnia

During a game of hide-and-seek, Lucy hides inside a large wardrobe. Instead of a back panel, she finds herself stepping into a snowy forest — Narnia.
There she meets Mr. Tumnus, a faun, who confesses that Narnia is under the rule of the White Witch, who has cursed the land with “always winter and never Christmas.” He is supposed to kidnap humans for the Witch,but lets Lucy go free.

🔹 Edmund Meets the White Witch

Later, all four children enter Narnia. Edmund slips away and encounters the White Witch (Jadis), who seduces him with enchanted Turkish Delight and promises to make him a prince if he brings his siblings to her. Edmund becomes bitter, jealous, and conflicted.

🔹 The Prophecy

The children learn from Mr. and Mrs. Beaver that they are part of a proph ecy:
“When two Sons of Adam and two Daughters of Eve sit on the thrones of Cair Paravel, the Witch’s reign will end.”
To protect themselves, the children must seek Aslan, the true king of Narnia.

🔹 Edmund’s Betrayal

Edmund leaves to join the Witch, expecting reward, but she treats him harshly upon learning his siblings are with Aslan.
