Set a few months after the events of the first film, the sequel finds the immortal warriors in a new phase of their long lives.

• Andy's mortality: The film picks up with Andy (Charlize Theron) struggling with her mysteriously lost immortality, making every mission a potential final one.

• Quynh's return: Quynh (Veronica Van), Andy's long-lost immortal comrade, is back after being imprisoned underwater for 500 years. Filled with rage and a desire for revenge, she poses a major threat.

• A new enemy: The team encounters another immortal named Discord (Uma Thurman), one of the oldest of her kind, who has her own agenda and is not fond of humanity.

• A historical library: The group seeks help from Tuah (Henry Golding), an immortal who keeps a vast library of their history and lore.

• Booker's exile: Booker (Matthias Schoenaerts), who betrayed the team in the first film, is now in exile.

• • Andy regains her immortality after Booker sacrifices himself to save her. Nile injures Quỳnh, stripping her of her regenerative healing power, but then Quỳnh is captured by Discord.

  • Discord turns out to also have lost immortality and wants to use Nile to regain power. The last scene shows Andy and a recovering Quỳnh together in Tuah’s library, preparing to mount a rescue mission for the rest of the Old Guard captured by Discord.
