The movie is set in the 10th century Chola dynasty, one of the most powerful empires in South India’s history. It explores political intrigue, royal conspiracies, love, betrayal, and the rise of Raja Raja Chola I (then called Arulmozhi Varman).

Summary

The story begins with Vandiyathevan, a brave warrior and friend of Aditha Karikalan, being sent as a messenger to deliver important messages between the Chola princes and the royal family. During his journey across the Chola empire, he uncovers plots, spies, and dangerous political games.

Meanwhile, Nandini, who secretly harbors vengeance against Aditha Karikalan and the Chola family, manipulates powerful ministers and nobles, including her husband Periya Pazhuvettaraiyar, to overthrow the Chola dynasty and install another ruler.

Kundavai, the princess, learns about these threats and uses her intelligence to safeguard her father and brothers. In distant Sri Lanka, Arulmozhi Varman is engaged in battle, earning the love and loyalty of his people.

As alliances shift and conspiracies grow, the story moves toward a dangerous storm at sea, ending with Arulmozhi’s shipwreck and the mysterious appearance of a woman resembling Nandini rescuing him—creating suspense for Part 2.
