Summary
Setting: 1971, Harrisville, Rhode Island.
The movie opens with paranormal investigators Ed and Lorraine Warren presenting a case involving a haunted doll named Annabelle, introducing their expertise in dealing with demonic entities.
Act 1 – The Perron Family Moves In

Roger and Carolyn Perron move into an old farmhouse with their five daughters: Andrea, Nancy, Christine, Cindy, and April.

At first, everything seems normal—until small things start happening: clocks stop at 3:07 AM, the family dog refuses to enter the house, and foul smells appear.

The dog is later found dead, and supernatural events escalate—doors slam, whispers echo, and one of the girls sees a ghostly woman.
Act 2 – The Warrens’ Involvement
Carolyn contacts Ed and Lorraine Warren after strange bruises appear on her body and the family is terrorized nightly.

The Warrens visit the home and immediately sense a dark presence. Lorraine, a clairvoyant, sees a demonic entity clinging to the Perrons.

The Warrens investigate and discover the house once belonged to Bathsheba Sherman, a woman accused of witchcraft in the 1800s who sacrificed her baby to the devil before hanging herself, cursing anyone who would take her land.
Act 3 – Escalation and Possession

Paranormal activity intensifies—spirits manifest, and Carolyn becomes the primary target for possession.

The Warrens set up cameras and recording devices to capture evidence. During one night, a violent haunting traps several family members, and Lorraine sees horrifying visions of the demonic entity.
